Milwaukee County Parks Invites Public to Help Shape the Future of Trails

MILWAUKEE, WIMilwaukee County Parks is inviting residents, trail users, and community members to join the first Public Information Meeting for the Milwaukee County Trails Network Plan update on Wednesday, August 27, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at South Shore Pavilion, 2900 S. Shore Dr., Milwaukee, WI 53207.

This open-house-style workshop will give the public an opportunity to share their values, priorities, and ideas for the future of Milwaukee County’s trail system. Attendees can drop in anytime during the event and participate in breakout activities designed to collect feedback on how trails can better connect communities, enhance recreation, and increase accessibility for all users.

“This plan is about more than just trails, it’s about creating connections between neighborhoods, nature, and opportunity,” said Guy Smith, Milwaukee County Parks Executive Director. “We need the community’s voice to help shape a vision that will serve residents for generations.”

The updated Milwaukee County Trails Network Plan will guide improvements and expansions to the trail system, focusing on equitable access, environmental stewardship, and community priorities. Input from this meeting will directly inform project goals and strategies for connecting people to parks, jobs, schools, and other destinations across the County.
