MILWAUKEE – March is Women’s History Month, and Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley and Milwaukee County Board Chairwoman Marcelia Nicholson-Bovell are celebrating the remarkable achievements of women and reflecting on the ongoing work to promote equity in Milwaukee County and beyond. This year’s theme, “Leading the Change: Women Shaping a Sustainable Future,” underscores the collective strength of women working together to shape a sustainable future for the next generation.

“As we celebrate Women’s History Month, we honor the women whose leadership, dedication, and advocacy have shaped Milwaukee County and continue to drive our future,” said County Executive Crowley. “Women have always been integral to the progress of our communities. That’s why my administration will continue working so women have a seat at the table and a voice in shaping decisions that affect their lives.”

“Women’s History Month is a time to lift the leaders, advocates, and trailblazers who have shaped our communities and continue striving for a brighter future. Milwaukee County is stronger because of the women who propel progress, break barriers, and build an inclusive vision where all voices are heard. Together, we are reimagining what is possible and ensuring that every woman has the tools to thrive,” said Chairwoman Nicholson-Bovell.

Under County Executive Crowley’s leadership, Milwaukee County has the most diverse cabinet in the county’s history, which helps ensure that the County’s policies and programs reflect the perspectives and needs of all residents. Additionally, under the leadership of Chairwoman Nicholson-Bovell, this past term marked a historic milestone with the largest number of female Supervisors ever serving on the Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors.
