Milwaukee Bucks Sign AJ Green to Multi-Year Contract Extension
MILWAUKEE (Oct. 17, 2025) – The Milwaukee Bucks have signed guard AJ Green to a multi-year contract extension.
Green, 26, played in 73 games (seven starts) last season and averaged career highs with 7.4 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 22.7 minutes per game. He also shot career bests from the field (42.9%) and from three-point distance (42.7%, 12th in NBA). In the five games against Indiana in the 2025 Playoffs, Green averaged 11.0 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.0 assists, while shooting 46.2% from the field and 51.4% from the three-point arc.
Green went undrafted out of Northern Iowa where he was named the 2022 Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year after averaging 18.8 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game in his final season with the Panthers. He also led the MVC in threes (93) and free throws (140) made as a senior while shooting 41.0% from the field, 38.8% from three and a conference-high 91.5% from the free-throw line.
Overall, Green averaged 17.8 points per game during his four seasons at Northern Iowa and left as the school’s fourth-highest scorer with 1,769 career points. With the Panthers, the Cedar Falls, Iowa native was a two-time First Team All-MVC selection (2022, 2020), the 2019 MVC Freshman of the Year and a finalist for the 2022 Lou Henson National Player of the Year Award, given annually to the top mid-major player in Division I.
