Milwaukee Area Unions Endorse Nikiya Dodd for 5th District Alderman

MILWAUKEE, WI – Today the Dodd campaign announced two Milwaukee area labor unions have endorsed Nikiya Dodd for 5th District Alderman, the Communications Workers of America District 4 and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 494. The Communications Workers of America District 4 includes over 200 local unions across five states that represent workers in telecommunications, information technology, publishing, print and electronic media, manufacturing, higher education, local government and healthcare. The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 494 proudly represents electrical professionals in Milwaukee, Waukesha, Washington, Ozaukee, Fond Du Lac and Sheboygan counties.

“Nikiya Dodd is a proven champion of working families and all workers who benefit from and rely on union representation. We stand with Nikiya,” said Dean Warsh, Business Manager and Financial Secretary, IBEW Local 494.

“As a State Senator and a County Supervisor I proudly stood with workers and their unions,” said Dodd. “I look forward to continuing my track record of partnership with labor while on the Common Council to ensure city policies create family supporting jobs, drive diverse economic development and raise living standards for working people across our city.”

Dodd has earned the endorsements of former 5th District Alderman Jim Bohl; Mayor Tom Barrett; State Senator LaTonya Johnson; State Representatives David Bowen, David Crowley and Fred Kessler; Aldermen Bob Bauman, Cavalier Johnson, Chantia Lewis and Jose Perez; County Supervisor Theodore Lipscomb; the Communications Workers of America District 4, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 494; and dozens of community leaders across the city.
