Mike Budenholzer Named Eastern Conference Coach of the Month
MILWAUKEE (March 2, 2023) – Milwaukee Bucks head coach Mike Budenholzer has been named Eastern Conference Coach of the Month for February, the NBA announced today. This is the seventh time Budenholzer has earned Coach of the Month honors in his career and his fifth time as head coach of the Bucks.
In February, the Bucks had the top net rating (10.6) and defensive rating (104.6) in the NBA and allowed the fourth-fewest points per game (106.9) in the league. On offense, Milwaukee averaged 118.3 points per game last month and owned a 115.2 offensive rating, which ranked second and sixth in the Eastern Conference, respectively. The Bucks also outscored their opponents by an NBA-best 11.4 points per game in February.
Highlights from the month include the Bucks’ largest comeback win of the season on Feb. 2 vs. the Clippers when they came back from 21 down to win 106-105, a 3-0 West Coast road trip with wins over the Trail Blazers, Lakers and Clippers and home wins over the Heat (twice) and Celtics.
Budenholzer previously earned Coach of the Month honors with the Bucks in Jan. 2019, Feb. 2019, Dec. 2019 and Feb. 2020.
