Milwaukee, WI-Milwaukee Chamber Theatre (MCT) is excited to announce that Amy Esposito will be joining the company as Managing Director officially stepping into her role on June 1, 2020.

Amy Esposito comes to MCT from the University of Minnesota where she utilized her skills in marketing to focus on removing barriers in the performing arts. Having been with the University of Minnesota since 2017, she managed all performance and programmatic marketing, recruitment material design, ticketing and revenue strategy, and managed a robust student marketing and front of house team.

“I’m pretty thrilled to welcome Amy into the MCT family! She has all the necessary skills to excel as MCT’s next managing director,” said Michael Wright, MCT’s outgoing Artistic Director. “She also has an obvious fondness for the Midwest and will be a perfect fit in the Milwaukee arts community, while bringing a fresh new outlook to the organization.”

Wright’s departure is slated for the end of the 2019-2020 season after a fifteen-year tenure as the company’s second Artistic Director. His legacy was commemorated at the company’s groundbreaking virtual fundraising gala, Cheers to Chamber, in early May.

“I am very pleased to welcome Amy aboard,” says Emily Shircel MCT’s Board President, “She brings the ideal blend of expertise and perspective to the table to lead us not only through the immediate challenges facing our organization, but also to co-lead MCT into its next chapter.”

Incoming Artistic Director Brent Hazelton adds, “I could not be more excited to collaborate with Amy. Her determination, insight, adaptability, and the variety of experiences that she brings are going to prove invaluable as we navigate the ever-changing landscape of Chamber’s immediate future. At the same time, her dynamism and broad scope of vision will allow us to strengthen the long-term foundation from which we continue to fulfill our 45-year mission of supporting local artists.”

In addition to her work with the University she also served on the Board of Directors at the female-run company Theatre Unbound in St. Paul, MN. Previously, Amy was the Associate Director of Marketing for Chicago Opera Theater and has served at other organizations such as the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, and The Glimmerglass Festival.

“I am thrilled to be joining Brent and the team at Chamber as we enter into a unique time for the performing arts. This is not a time without challenges; however, the staff and Board at MCT are uniquely fueled by both a strong history and fresh momentum to not only overcome the upcoming obstacles, but use them as an opportunity to explore new ways to connect with our community,” said Esposito. “I look forward to being a part of that process, and helping to fuel the creative fire of the Milwaukee area — a place I look forward to calling home.”
