MILWAUKEE – Marquette University has been recognized by the Peace Corps for its longstanding partnership with the Paul D. Coverdell Fellows program, a graduate fellowship program that offers financial assistance for returned Peace Corps volunteers.

Marquette is able to participate as a partner university through the Trinity Fellows Program, a 21-month study/work graduate fellowship program dedicated to developing urban leaders who are committed to social justice. The program is supported by the Burke Foundation and Marquette University.

As a part of its recognition of Marquette, the Peace Corps will send an anniversary bell, symbolic of the bell that is rung for Peace Corps volunteers on their Close of Service date.

Marquette began its partnership with the Paul D. Coverdell Fellows in 2000 with the founding of the Trinity Fellows Program, and over 65 returned Peace Corps Volunteers have graduated from the Trinity Fellows Program over the past 19 years.
