Mark Angelini Named President of Mercy Housing Lakefront
Mr. Angelini has nearly 30 years of experience in economic, community and real estate development.
Mercy Housing Lakefront is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Angelini as president of the Chicago-based Mercy Housing Lakefront, a regional affiliate of national Mercy Housing, Inc., a non-profit affordable housing company.
“Mark’s years of leadership experience and commitment to our mission will ensure that Mercy Housing Lakefront continues to tackle the big housing challenges facing the Chicago and Milwaukee areas,” said Jane Graf, Chief Executive Officer, Mercy Housing, Inc.
Mr. Angelini has nearly 30 years of experience in economic, community and real estate development. Previously, he served as Mercy’s Senior Vice President of real estate development, and has been serving as interim president since January 2014. He succeeds Cindy Holler, who now serves as Senior Vice President of National Real Estate for Denver-based Mercy Housing, Inc.
Mercy Housing Lakefront is one of the Midwest’s premier non-profit affordable housing development and property management companies. The organization serves 4,000 people including families, seniors and people who have special needs in Chicagoland and Milwaukee, and has helped protect and/or renovate approximately 1,100 foreclosed or under-water homes in the Chicago area.

Currently, Mercy Housing Lakefront employs 200 people and manages 2,870 homes in 28 properties. Recent developments include construction of a residence for seniors in Grayslake, Ill.; the redevelopment of Pullman Wheelworks Apartments for families on Chicago’s south side; and the acquisition of St. Catherine’s Residence for women and families in Milwaukee, Wis. The company is currently working to develop new affordable properties in Milwaukee, Danville, Ill., and the Chicago neighborhoods of Little Village and Homan Square.
Mercy Housing Lakefront is working to leverage $1 billion over seven years to address the housing crisis in Chicago and Milwaukee by building and preserving 7,500 homes, creating 8,000 jobs, and preventing or ending homelessness for 20,000 people.
Prior to joining Mercy Housing Lakefront in 2010, Mr. Angelini held executive positions at The Shaw Company, S.B. Friedman & Co., and the Illinois Institute of Technology. He occasionally lectures at local universities on real estate, community and economic development. He holds a B.S. in engineering from the University of Notre Dame and an M.S. in engineering from Northwestern University.
