Lincoln Creek Week offers free, fun activities for the whole family
June 21-28 is Lincoln Creek Week, a time to celebrate with neighbors and partners who thrive along the Lincoln Creek Greenway. 12 partner organizations have come together to host a weeklong celebration filled with a variety of events themed around conservation and education. Alderwoman Andrea M. Pratt is encouraging neighbors to join in throughout the week.
Events being held throughout the week include:
– Kick-off event, sip and paint, and water restoration info session at 5 p.m. on Monday, June 23 at Atkinson Library, 1960 W. Atkinson Ave.
– Community cleanup on Lincoln Creek on Tuesday, June 24 at 2 p.m. beginning at Lincoln Creek and Sherman Blvd.
– Bird Walk with Lake Michigan Bird Observatory on Wednesday, June 25 from 7 – 9 a.m. at Lincoln Creek Landing
– Habitat Helpers Prairie Restoration on Thursday, June 26 from 1 – 3 p.m. at Havenwoods State Forest, 6141 N. Hopkins St.
– Community celebration and picnic on Saturday, June 28 from noon – 3 p.m. at Lincoln Park picnic site 1
