Lieutenant Governor Candidate David Varnam Responds to Will Martin Donations

Lancaster, WI (March 16, 2026) – Today, Republican Lieutenant Governor Candidate David Varnam responded to published reports that Will Martin, Republican candidate for Lieutenant Governor, made multiple donations to former President Barack Obama and other democratic candidates.

“It concerns me that a current candidate for Lieutenant Governor, who formerly staffed two Wisconsin Republican Governors, would have made so many donations to liberal politicians that put in place policies like Obamacare. Republicans should be troubled that it seems he only began making donations to Wisconsin Republican candidates just before he announced his candidacy for office as a Republican in 2021.”

David Varnam served as a vice chairman of the Grant County Republican Party from 2013 to 2023. David Varnam is also a former mayor of Lancaster, former congressional aide, and former federal policy analyst at Focus on the Family for Dr. James Dobson.
