Leah Vukmir: I Won’t Let Baldwin Hide on ICE Elimination

"Sen. Baldwin, where do you stand?"

By - Jul 5th, 2018 02:46 pm

Brookfield, Wis. — Military mom and U.S. Senate candidate Leah Vukmir called on the media Thursday to ask Sen. Tammy Baldwin whether she supports the elimination of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Immigration and Customs Enforcement:

“Sen. Baldwin’s radical successor Mark Pocan has been calling for the incredibly dangerous elimination of ICE — and effectively eliminating our border. We deserve to know if Sen. Baldwin agrees. The entire nation is discussing this, yet she remains silent. I want to know why the media isn’t calling her office asking for an answer. In the meantime, I will not stay quiet and let her hide her extreme agenda from the people of Wisconsin. We need to stop criminals and the flow of illegal drugs at the border.

“Sen. Baldwin, where do you stand? Do you believe we should eliminate border enforcement? Americans deserve to know.”

Leah Vukmir is a nurse, military mom and conservative with a proven record who has stood with Gov. Walker in cutting taxes and implementing bold reforms. Endorsed by the Republican Party of Wisconsin, Leah is running for the U.S. Senate to bring the Wisconsin Way to Washington.

you ask irrelevant questions and support anti-women issues. we know where you stand and we won’t vote for you.

  2. daniel golden says:

I have had the pleasure of knowing quite a few nurses in my day, and Vukmir is with out a doubt the most mean spirited, angry woman I have ever met in the nursing profession.
As to demanding that Baldwin take a position, she herself refuses to abandon the clan that supports unquestioningly Donald Trump. Her blind loyalty to Trump calls into question her judgement on any issue. Her voting record borders on the Neanderthal. How can a woman who calls herself a nurse be so anti-woman on every major issue affecting women?

  3. Eric S says:

State Senator Vukmir does not seem to know what ICE actually does (and does not do). ICE does not patrol borders, CBP does. A proposal to eliminate ICE (and reevaluate and reform the functions of ICE and redistribute them to other agencies) would by no means “effectively eliminat[e] our border,” unless of course Vukmir believes that the border was not (effectively) created until 2003 when ICE was created.

  4. Dennis says:

This just shows she is trying to get the unintelligent Trump base fired up again. That’s what these right wing nut jobs do, always spread fear and conspiracy theories too blame someone else for their stupidity and failure.

  5. Geoff Davidian says:

I am waiting to hear something positive from your campaign and not just attack, attack attack like a drunk bully. It’s as hopeless as waiting for the governor to admit he’s going bald. Do you agree that the Republican senators who spent July 4 in Moscow went to attend the World Cup, and that the trip had no other purpose and bore no fruit? Do you agree that they should make their expenses public? Do you plan to go to Moscow? Have you gone yet or met with any Russians or Russian agents, or been contacted by anyone about future trips to the former Soviet Union? Is Crimea Ukrainian or Russian?

  6. MKE Kid says:

Why does being a “military mom” make you any different from being a “chef’s mom,” or a “plumber’s mom,” or a “homeless person’s mom?” If her son were a homeless veteran, would that make Vukmir a “homeless military person’s mom?”
Blatantly cheap attempt to label herself as being something special, which she certainly is not, at least in a positive way.
Trump backers sure love to put labels on everything. Makes it easier for them to separate and categorize things and people.
My mother didn’t constantly refer to herself as a “law enforcement officer’s mom.” She had way too much class than that.

  7. PMD says:

It’s because her primary opponent spends 23 hours a day reminding people that he’s a vet. Neither one has any class. Vukmir vs. Nicholson is like a student body president race that features the two worst people in your high school class.

  8. MKE Kid says:

PMD: Good point. I’ve been bombarded with his ads on YT. Of course, he owes his “awakened” (from his parents’ liberal beliefs) direction in life to Ronny Reagan. I’m surprised he hasn’t said that God told him to run for office. Or maybe he has. I either skip his ads on YT or go to the loo when his ads surface on TV.

  9. chris says:

It is a good thing nurse Ratchet left nursing. Our profession does not need neo fascists who denigrate everything we stand for.
