League of Women Voters Publishes VOTE411 Spring Election Voter Guide
MILWAUKEE, WI – The League of Women Voters of Milwaukee County launched its VOTE411.org voter guide for the Spring Election on March 8.
The League of Women Voters of Milwaukee County invited over 300 candidates, who are seeking 180 local offices up for election on April 2, to participate in their April VOTE411.org voter guide. These offices include Milwaukee County executive, Milwaukee and Waukesha County circuit court judges and supervisors, municipal mayors, alderpersons, village presidents and trustees, town supervisors, judges, and school board members.
In addition to information about candidates for office in Milwaukee and Waukesha Counties, the VOTE411.org voter guide also features information about the state race for Appellate Court Judge District 1. There are also two statewide referenda on proposed state constitutional amendments concerning election funding and administration, as well as referenda up for voter approval in five area school districts: Greendale, Milwaukee, South Milwaukee, Hamilton, and Pewaukee.
“Decisions made at the local level can directly impact ourselves and our communities,” Nancy Maloney, president of the League of Women voters of Milwaukee County stressed. “With our nonpartisan VOTE411.org voter guide, voters can learn more about the responsibilities of these offices and each candidate’s values and be well-prepared to make an informed decision on election day.”
In addition to VOTE411, the League encourages active participation in government by conducting voter registration drives and candidate forums, get-out-the-vote social media messaging, and educational public forums on critical public policy issues.
