Leaf Collection Continues Throughout Milwaukee
5th District Alderman Lamont Westmoreland wants to remind residents that the Department of Public Works’ fall leaf collection is still ongoing despite the extended rake-out deadline having passed on Sunday, November 26. The Department of Public Works began its final citywide sweep of leaves on Monday, November 27, with parts of the city having been completed. DPW has an interactive map that shows the status of final collections that can be viewed at Milwaukee.gov/Leaves.
“I appreciate the calls and emails our office has received about leaf collection, and I want to remind residents that the final leaf collection is still happening in many areas, but more importantly, with the weather warming slightly in the coming days don’t rake additional leaves into the street as they will not be collected,” said Alderman Westmoreland. Those wanting to dispose of additional leaves are encouraged to take leaves and yard debris to city Drop Off Centers to dispose of up to 6 cubic yards without fees.
