Carthage Introduces Free Launch Kenosha Entrepreneurship Program for City Residents
KENOSHA, Wis. – Carthage College is accepting applications for a free community entrepreneurship program called Launch Kenosha that follows a well-established blueprint for startup success.
Professor Joseph Tenuta brought the regional BizStarts Institute to the city last year. After a successful debut, Carthage is branching off with a new name and vision while retaining much of the original curriculum.
Modeled after an internationally recognized program devised by University of Notre Dame professor Michael Morris, Launch Kenosha employs a credentialed learning system. Each program graduate receives a certificate from Carthage and Notre Dame.
“Launch Kenosha is designed for City of Kenosha residents who have always wanted to start their own businesses but lacked the support to do so,” Tenuta says. “Carthage is committed to leveraging our expertise to serve our neighbors.”
Any Kenosha resident can apply for the 2026-27 cohort, which begins Oct. 17 with the first session in a six-week business bootcamp. Carthage faculty members from the School of Business and Economics will lead sessions at the Kenosha Innovation Center, 5522 26th Ave., focused on starting and operating a successful venture.
Then, over the winter and spring, Launch Kenosha participants will get one-on-one coaching from experienced mentors and project assistance from Carthage student consultants.
