Larry Miller Announces Endorsement From AFT Local 212
AFT sees Miller as champion of public education, pursuit of quality schools
MILWAUKEE – Larry Miller, vice president of the Milwaukee Public School Board, today announced the endorsement from the American Federation of Teachers Local 212 in his bid for reelection.
Luz Sosa, vice president of AFT Local 212, said, “Larry Miller has been a real champion on the school board doing what is right for our children and our communities in Milwaukee. It’s been a pleasure working with him to make our schools of higher quality and to continue the fight for public education.”
Miller said, “I believe strongly in the value of MPS, and have continued to work tirelessly on the board to institute new policies to hold unaccountable voucher schools to the same standards as our public schools. Every child in Milwaukee deserves a quality education, and it’s our job to make sure that happens. I thank AFT for being a voice for public education, and I look forward to continuing to work alongside them in the years ahead.”
Larry Miller is currently the vice president of the Milwaukee Public School board and has been representing Milwaukee’s 5th district for the past eight years. He resides on the city’s east side with his wife, Ellen Bravo. The general election is Tuesday, April 4, 2017.
