Keyboard Warrior Van Orden Tweets Over 600 Times in February, Still Wont Hold Town Hall

MADISON, Wis. — February may be the shortest month of the year, but that didn’t stop Derrick Van Orden from compulsively tweeting more than 600 times. His online tantrums ranged from groveling praise for Donald Trump after the State of the Union — even though Trump went out of his way to snub him — to pushing extreme legislation that would disenfranchise millions of voters nationwide.

Despite finding time to tweet hundreds of times and even attend out-of-state fundraisers, Van Orden could not find the time to meet face-to-face with his own constituents in a public setting.

“Van Orden continues to hide behind his keyboard and private events because he is too afraid to respond to unscripted questions that don’t fit into his deluded version of reality,” said Democratic Party of Wisconsin spokesperson Rachel La Due. “Van Orden spends his evenings hiding behind his screen so he doesn’t have to answer for the economic pain inflicted by Republican tariff taxes on his constituents, or the skyrocketing health care costs they face as a result of the GOP’s inability to continue funding for ACA subsidies.”
