Kelly Gallaher Announces Her Campaign For Mount Pleasant Village President
Mount Pleasant — Today, longtime community advocate Kelly Gallaher announces her campaign to seek the office of Village President by filing the paperwork necessary to be placed on the ballot for the April 4th election.
Gallaher has served as the spokesperson for the last seven years for A Better Mt. Pleasant, a local watchdog organization, and has been an outspoken critic of the failed Foxconn development project in Mount Pleasant.
“I have been fighting for a better Mount Pleasant as a resident for years. It’s time to step up. I’m ready to lead it as Village President,” Gallaher said. “Mount Pleasant is at a crossroads. Our future can no longer be in the hands of politicians who brought us Foxconn — the largest failed publicly funded economic development project in U.S. history.”
With the announcement of her candidacy, Gallaher is kicking off a door-to-door campaign to speak with — and listen to — the concerns of voters in Mount Pleasant.
“Residents should be treated like neighbors, not a nuisance,” Gallaher said. “It’s time for a fresh start and new leadership in Mount Pleasant. We will not let the failures of others define our future. We will send a strong and clear message that Mount Pleasant is moving forward — together.”

The Village of Mount Pleasant sure got screwed by the Republicans and their Foxconn boondoggle. I still wonder why there is not more outrage about the State being played.
I finished reading the book, “Foxconned” only last week. The actions of Wisconsin and Mt. Pleasant officials were jaw-dropping in their lack of common sense, any sense of propriety, respect for the value of due diligence, and cynical view of the purpose of government. I, too, wonder why there is no outrage? Is it because all the homeowners and family farms are all gone? Did the “shock and awe” of the railroading of this project silence everyone? It is hard to understand.
