Just Announced! Nine New Shows Coming to Milwaukee as Part of 2024/25 MPAC Presents Season

Highlights include Cirque Kalabanté, The Magic of Rob Lake, the return of The Hip Hop Nutcracker, and a one-night-only performance of the National Tour of The Cher Show

MILWAUKEE (June 24, 2024) – Marcus Performing Arts Center (MPAC) announces nine new shows as part of the 2024/25 MPAC Presents Series:

Build Your Own (BYO) Series packages for all MPAC Presents shows will go on sale Friday, June 28 at 12:00 p.m. Subscribe your way by choosing any three or more MPAC Presents shows and save up to 15%!

Subscription packages for the 2024/25 MPAC Presents Dance and Jazz series as well as the upcoming 2024/25 Johnson Financial Group Broadway at the Marcus Center Season are also on sale now.

Single tickets for Marshall Charloff & The Purple Xperience, Recycled Percussion, and the previously announced performance of esperanza spalding will go on sale to the public on Friday, June 28 at 12:00 p.m.

The Hip Hop Nutcracker will go on sale to the public on Friday, July 12. Single tickets for all remaining MPAC Presents shows listed above will go on sale Friday, July 26.

About MPAC Presents Programming
These shows continue to expand on MPAC’s diverse selection of programming as part of the 2024/25 MPAC Presents Season, which includes previously announced 3-show series of Dance and Jazz. The upcoming 2024/25 season is anchored in artistic excellence and builds upon MPAC’s commitment to advance racial equity, diversity, and inclusion through the performing arts.

After a successful inaugural season, the Culture Collective, an exciting addition to MPAC’s performance lineup, will be announced the week of July 8. The Culture Collective is designed to celebrate and elevate the contributions of artists of color across a spectrum of artistic disciplines.

In addition to MPAC’s performing arts programming, numerous educational and community engagement activities will be part of the upcoming 2024/25 season. MPAC will offer a range of activities alongside performances, including masterclasses, workshops, Q&A sessions, post-show talkbacks, and more in partnership with local schools and community organizations, ensuring that the transformative power of the arts reaches individuals of all ages and backgrounds. The 2024/25 Student Matinee Series will also be announced at a later date.

Marshall Charloff & The Purple Xperience
October 24, 2024 | 7:30 p.m.
This electrifying evening with Marshall Charloff & The Purple Xperience is the ultimate tribute to Prince! Let the paisley parade of hits transport you into the world of this iconic artist as The Purple Xperience brings classics like “When Doves Cry,” “Raspberry Beret,” and “Purple Rain” to life. This is more than a concert; it’s a celebration of the creative genius that defined a generation.

Recycled Percussion
October 25, 2024 | 7:30 p.m.
Experience high-energy “junk rock” music as international phenomenon Recycled Percussion takes Milwaukee by storm! Taking percussion to a whole new level, the band brings to the stage an interactive experience filled with comedy, music, thrilling staging, and of course, brilliant drumming. Whether it is a sink, ladders, or buckets, Recycled Percussion makes a beat out of anything you put in front of them, so get out your inner rockstar and get ready to rock!

The Hip Hop Nutcracker
November 22, 2024 | 7:30 p.m.
A holiday mash-up for the whole family, The Hip Hop Nutcracker returns to Milwaukee by popular demand. Directed and choreographed by Tony and Olivier Award-nominated Jennifer Weber, this contemporary dance spectacle is a re-mixed and re-imagined version of the classic, smashing hip hop dance and Tchaikovsky’s timeless music together into a heart-stirring and inspirational holiday event. The Hip Hop Nutcracker is brought to life by a powerhouse cast of a dozen all-star dancers, a DJ, a violinist, and MC Kurtis Blow, one of hip hop’s founding fathers, who opens the show with a short set.

Cirque Kalabanté: Afrique en Cirque
January 29, 2025 | 7:30 p.m.
Cirque Kalabanté combines breathtaking acrobatics with live music played on traditional Guinean instruments in Afrique en Cirque, a vibrant show by Yamoussa Bangoura. Dazzling circus arts intertwine with the sounds of live Afro-Jazz music, percussion beats, and the soulful melodies of the kora, a West African string instrument. Get ready for an unforgettable journey with Cirque Kalabanté as you are swept away into the heart of Guinea through a mesmerizing blend of acrobatics, music, and dance.

The Magic of Rob Lake

YAMATO: The Drummers of Japan

The internationally acclaimed group performs a powerhouse program featuring over 40 traditional Taiko drums, each with its own unique character and sound. Founded over 30 years ago in Nara Prefecture, said to be the birthplace of Japanese culture and civilization, YAMATO travels the world to share this longstanding cultural tradition. The Red Hot Chilli Pipers
March 21, 2025 | 7:30 p.m.
Bagpipes with attitude, drums with a Scottish accent, and a show so hot it carries a health warning! The Red Hot Chilli Pipers, a multi-platinum, award-winning Celtic rock back from Scotland, are bringing their signature “BAGROCK” sound back to Milwaukee. Their blend of traditional Scottish music and rock creates an electrifying experience that you have to see to believe.

RUMOURS: The Ultimate Fleetwood Mac Tribute Show

Relive the rock and roll magic of Fleetwood Mac with Rumours: The Ultimate Fleetwood Mac Tribute Show! Rumours recreates the band’s legendary persona, from period accurate equipment and costumes to spot-on characterizations and musical performances, taking you back to a time when music was still an unbridled cultural experience.
