I-43 URT project to shift northbound lanes

By - Oct 10th, 2023 04:41 pm

As part of the I-43 URT (Union Refrigerator Transit Company) bridge project, WisDOT is notifying motorists of upcoming lane shifts along I-43 northbound in the city of Glendale.

Beginning Saturday, Oct. 14, traffic on I-43 northbound, between Capitol Drive and just south of Silver Spring Drive is scheduled to be shifted east onto the newly constructed northbound lanes. This traffic switch allows crews to complete interior lane and shoulder work. Just south of the Glendale Avenue bridge, I-43 northbound is scheduled to open to three lanes. Traffic on I-43 southbound will remain in two lanes.

Whether it’s in active work zones or routine daily commutes, motorists are reminded to drive safely, avoid distractions, and observe posted speed limits.  For real-time traffic information, visit: https://511wi.gov/
