Milwaukee, WI — Milky Way Tech Hub, a leading organization committed to building a tech ecosystem grounded in equity, is proud to announce that national law firm Husch Blackwell has joined as its newest corporate member.

This exciting partnership aligns with Milky Way Tech Hub’s mission to support local entrepreneurs, advance STEM education, and foster an inclusive community. The collaboration will offer unique opportunities for Husch Blackwell attorneys to share their legal knowledge with Milwaukee’s tech and startup community, particularly in the areas of intellectual property, labor and employment.

“At Milky Way Tech Hub, we believe that access to legal counsel is a vital part of empowering emerging founders,” said Nadiyah Johnson, CEO & Founder of Milky Way Tech Hub. “We’ve built a strong history of equipping our startups with essential legal knowledge and intellectual property skills to prepare them for the future of the industry. Welcoming Husch Blackwell to our growing network of corporate partners continues that momentum, and we’re excited about the innovative programming we’ll build together.”

During a recent meeting, representatives from both organizations explored synergies around educational events, mentorship and community engagement. Husch Blackwell attorneys shared their passion for supporting entrepreneurs navigating complex legal challenges in fast-growing sectors like manufacturing and technology.

“Milwaukee is a city of innovation and entrepreneurial energy,” said Heather Ehlers, an intellectual property attorney at Husch Blackwell. “We’re excited to work with Milky Way Tech Hub to help founders understand how to protect their ideas and grow responsibly.”

Planned initiatives include legal education sessions at some of Milky Way’s monthly meetups, contributions to the organization’s bootcamp-style accelerator program, and participation in the annual Equity in Tech Summit, being held this fall as part of WI Tech Month, another initiative led by Milky Way Tech Hub. Husch Blackwell is also exploring opportunities to host community events and provide ongoing guidance to startup founders through targeted sessions on intellectual property and fractional workforce management.

As Milky Way Tech Hub continues its expansion—including the opening of a new commercial space in Sherman Park later this year—partnerships like this one are key to deepening its impact in Milwaukee and beyond.
