Husch Blackwell Hosts Local Leaders, Executives in Construction Academy Symposium

MARCH 6, 2020 — On Wednesday, March 11, Husch Blackwell’s Construction Academy will host a symposium event exploring a wide range of timely and innovative construction industry topics.

Launched in 2019, Husch Blackwell’s Construction Academy is a comprehensive, industry-based knowledge center that includes diverse voices and stakeholders including business leaders from the construction, design, engineering, development and project funding fields, as well as trade associations, universities and policymakers.

“Our Construction Academy brings together all aspects of the construction industry to share real-world insights that promote innovation and knowledge sharing,” said Joshua Levy, Partner at Husch Blackwell and Co-Chair of the Husch Blackwell Construction Academy. “The topics we will be covering at this symposium help move projects – and people – forward and are just a sampling of the types of challenges and opportunities we explore regularly through the Construction Academy.”

The complimentary symposium will take place on Wednesday, March 11, at the Imperial Ballroom of the Pfister Hotel from 2:30 – 6:00 p.m. and is expected to draw a diverse group of participants, including local executives, attorneys, engineers and real estate developers. Industry-leading speakers will present on emerging construction related topics, including:

  • WELL Building: Lisa Proeber, WELL AP, Business Development Manager at Allsteel, and Joshua Levy, Partner at Husch Blackwell and Co-Chair of the Husch Blackwell Construction Academy, will discuss the emerging integration of health and wellness considerations in buildings, considering factors for employees like air, water, nourishment, light, fitness, comfort and mind;
  • Digitalization: Eric Meier, Partner at Husch Blackwell and Co-Chair of the Husch Blackwell Construction Academy, and John Duggan, Co-Chief Operating Officer at The Concord Group, will discuss the legal landscape for electronic transactions, as well as opportunities and obstacles to fully integrating a digital process within the construction industry; and
  • Diversity and Inclusion: a panel will discuss the diversity and inclusion success of the Fiserv Forum, and share best practices for similar efforts throughout the region. Participants include:
