Hunger Task Force executive director to go “On the Issues,” Feb. 21

By - Feb 18th, 2022 04:09 pm

MILWAUKEE — Sherrie Tussler, executive director of the Hunger Task Force, will be the featured guest for an upcoming virtual “On the Issues” with Alan Borsuk, senior fellow in law and public policy, Monday, Feb. 21.

The video will be available at 12:15 p.m. on the Marquette Law School website.

Hunger Task Force is Milwaukee’s only free and local food bank and Tussler has been the executive director since 1997. The pandemic has created many stresses for children and adults, and there has also been a significant inflow of federal money to address food shortages. Tussler and Borsuk will discuss lessons learned about food programs, more effective ways to distribute food, how to improve the quality of food available to people, and how hunger could be reduced in the future.

The virtual “On the Issues” is available to the public.

Through public programming such as the Marquette Law School Poll, debates featuring candidates in significant political races, “On the Issues” conversations with newsmakers, public lectures by leading scholars, conferences on issues of public significance, and the work of its Lubar Center for Public Policy Research and Civic Education, Marquette Law School serves as the region’s leading venue for civil discourse about law and public policy matters.
