Hughes and Bynum Earn All-BIG EAST Indoor Honors
Duo finished top three at BIG EAST Indoor Championships in individual events
NEW YORK – Marquette University track & field student athletes Aaron Hughes and Annika Bynum were named All-BIG EAST Indoor, the league announced on Wednesday.
Aaron Hughes won gold in the 200m with a program record 21.37 second race. The junior also won bronze in the 60m earlier in the day at 6.83 seconds.
Hughes was the first Golden Eagle since Joe Keys to win gold at the conference indoor championships. Keys won gold in the heptathlon in 2022. Hughes was also the first male Golden Eagle since Joel Swanberg in 2016 to win multiple medals at the BIG EAST Indoor Championships.Annika Bynum won bronze in the high jump clearing 1.73m, her second-straight third-place finish at the conference indoor championships.
