MILWAUKEE, WI – October 16, 2025 — On Thursday evening, Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity hosted its annual Framing the Future Gala inside the organization’s historic early 20th century woodshop. The event welcomed more than 300 guests and raised $472,000 to build affordable homeownership across Milwaukee.

Presented by BMO Harris Bank, the Framing the Future Gala is Milwaukee Habitat’s largest annual fundraiser. The funds raised are essential to Milwaukee Habitat’s mission of helping local families invest in the stability and equity of homeownership.

Speaking to guests, Gala emcee Portia Young talked about the impact she’s seen in the community, “Every home Milwaukee Habitat builds is a step toward stronger, healthier communities. It’s incredible to see how affordable homeownership empowers families to dream bigger, plan for the future, and create a sense of belonging that lasts for generations.”

A challenge match of $80,000, including a $75,000 contribution from Accunet Mortgage, was quickly met – and surpassed – by attendees.

As the evening came to a close, the outpouring of generosity reflected the power of community. It is a reminder that when people unite behind affordable homeownership, they build more than houses—together, we build homes, community, and hope.
