Milwaukee (Dec. 10, 2020) – Starting December 16, 2020, Guardian Fine Arts’ newest addition to its fleet, a 20-foot diesel quad-cab truck, will be available to museums and private clients for transportation and shuttles. The truck is outfitted with customized features including air-ride suspension, pneumatic leveling, climate control, power lift gate and multi-level E-Track object-securing systems. The truck’s location and condition can be monitored in real-time nationwide 24/7, using GPS tracking and satellite monitoring.

“The truck was built to our specifications in every respect,” said John Shannon, founder and managing director of Guardian. “It puts us into the major leagues. We are on par with similar companies in New York, Los Angeles or Miami.”

“The unique quad-cab allows us to schedule up to four people in the truck safely and comfortably in non-covid times,” Registrar and Logistics Manager Katie Steffan said. “This could be four art handlers on a job or, for museum projects, two art handlers and a museum courier.”

In addition to fine and decorative art, Guardian moves and stores antiques, furniture, musical instruments, jewelry, family archives, as well as other high value assets. The transportation service was developed for museums, private art collectors, auction houses, galleries, artists, art conservators, property managers and estate planners.

“Depending on client needs, Guardian offers two types of service,” Director of Client Services Thomas Roozen said. “Our shuttle service between cities such as Milwaukee and Chicago or Milwaukee and the Twin Cities is efficient and economical. We also offer point-to-point deliveries where time and exclusivity are required. We transport everything from single items to large collections and deliver them safely and securely to any location across the country.”

“In either case,” added Sales and Marketing Manager Christine Anderson, “Guardian’s team of art handlers has helped us develop the first white-glove art service based in Wisconsin. Every day they work with museums and private collectors. They are trained, experienced, trusted, and bonded.”

Guardian opened in October 2017 by art collectors John Shannon and Jan Serr.  Located in a state-of-the-art five-story facility, Guardian provides a full range of services for the arts community, including secure storage, transportation, collection management, installation, packing and crating, custom mounting, and consultations for appraisals and conservation.
