Greenfield Farmers Market Returns May 3 with Expanded Vendor Lineup and New Community Programming
Greenfield, Wis. – April 8, 2026 – The City of Greenfield Farmers Market will open its 2026 season on Sunday, May 3, bringing more vendors, expanded programming, and a curated market experience to Konkel Park.
The weekly market runs Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. through Oct. 25, except Memorial Day weekend. Now in its third year under the leadership of the City of Greenfield Parks and Recreation Department, the market continues to grow as a destination for fresh food, artisan goods, and community connection.
This season, the market will feature more than 109 vendors, a 17 percent increase over 2024. Market organizers received more than twice as many vendor applications as available spaces, allowing them to be selective in building a balanced mix of offerings. Vendors say that a sense of connection is what sets the market apart.
“Farmers markets are where the magic happens for small makers like us,” said Marlon Williams, owner of Sauce King. “At Greenfield, it’s never just about selling a bottle of sauce; it’s about the handshake, the shared recipes, and the genuine friendships we’ve simmered over the years.”
As farmers markets and food-based events continue to grow in popularity across the region, organizers said the focus has been on creating a market that stands out through intentional planning.
“We spent time this offseason looking at what is working, what could be improved, and how we continue to grow in a meaningful way,” said Cori Coffman, market coordinator of the Greenfield Farmers Market. “We are focused on creating an experience that offers variety, supports our vendors, and gives people a reason to come back week after week.”
Approximately two-thirds of vendors serve as consistent anchors in the weekly layout, while others rotate throughout the season to introduce new products and experiences. The market began in 2013 and continues to evolve as improvements to Konkel Park progress. Longtime vendors say that the sense of community has grown with the market.
“We have been part of the Greenfield Farmers Market for several years, as well as other markets around the county. Each market has its own personality, and we truly enjoy how this one enriches the community and the warm feeling it gives us as a vendor,” noted Mike Riggs, owner of Bay View Bread. “We love seeing families spend time together, whether it’s kids playing in the grass or dancing to the music. There is a real sense of energy, from the market managers and volunteers to the musicians, makers, and special events. It is just something special.”
The park now includes dedicated vendor spaces with access to parking and electricity. It has public restrooms and two nearby parking lots. A central green space provides picnic seating, live music, and community activities, encouraging visitors to gather and stay.
“People come for the local fresh food, but they stay for the experience,” added Chris Koncki, owner of Mama’s Boy Salsa. “It is a place where you can slow down life, spend time together, and discover something new and delicious each week.”
New Programming Expands Weekly Experiences
This year’s Greenfield Farmers Market introduces expanded programming designed to create variety throughout the season and activate the park’s central gathering space.
Makers Market
The Makers Market takes place on the first Sunday of each month. It will feature about 20 artisan vendors in a dedicated area, creating a focused space for handcrafted goods. Shoppers will enjoy a “market within the market” experience.
Kids Craft Day
Held on the third Sunday of the month from June through September, Kids Craft Day will offer hands-on creative activities for children.
Meals at the Market
Held on the fourth Sunday of the month from June through September, Meals at the Market will feature live cooking demonstrations led by Chef Dan, highlighting how to turn market-fresh ingredients into simple, approachable meals at home.
Farm-to-Fork dinner celebrating local fare
The market will also host a signature community event, Farm-to-Fork, on Wednesday, Aug. 26, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Konkel Park.
The dinner will feature a long-table outdoor meal prepared by Noble Catering Co., with ingredients sourced directly from vendors at the Greenfield Farmers Market. The evening will include live music by Joe Wray and communal seating designed to bring neighbors together.
“It is about bringing the community to the table,” Coffman said. “The farmers market exists because of the people who grow the food, the vendors who bring their talents, and the neighbors who support them week after week.”
