Grassroots North Shore Hosts Candidates for State Superintendent of Public Instruction

Virtual attendees will have the opportunity to hear and question the two candidates for the Wisconsin State Superintendent of Public Instruction’s office. Dr. Deborah Kerr and Dr. Jill Underly will be vying for the position, which includes providing leadership for Wisconsin’s public schools, monitoring school performance, and disbursing federal aid.

The event will take place virtually on March 14th at 7:00. Pablo Muirhead, who is on the Shorewood School Boards and is Chair of the Department of Education at Milwaukee Area Technical College, will moderate the forum. There will be an introduction and an explanation of the position by Ingrid Walker-Henry, Vice-President of the Milwaukee Teacher’s Education Association.

Dr. Kerr is the former Brown Deer School District superintendent, and Dr. Underly is the current superintendent of the rural Pecatonica School District.
