Grand Opening of Notes for Notes Studio at Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee
MILWAUKEE– (May 25, 2022) Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee (BGCGM) is proud to announce the grand opening of a Notes for Notes (N4N) music recording studio at the Milwaukee Academy of Science Boys & Girls Club on May 25. The studio is sponsored by Keith Mardak, a longtime supporter of BGCGM.
N4N is a non-profit organization that builds, equips, and staffs recording studios outfitted with contemporary instruments and gear, giving youth the opportunity to explore, create, and record music for free under the guidance of a talented N4N producer. CEO and Co-Founder of N4N, Phil Gilley, says the program is intended to fill gaps in musical programming offered in public schools.
As one of the largest N4N studios, and first in Milwaukee, the space features two track rooms, a large mix room equipped with the major DAWS, a stage complete with front of house, and a podcast booth with guitars, drums, keyboards/synths, groove stations and DJ gear. Every child will have the opportunity to explore paths leading to careers in music – from artists, to producers, to managers.
“We’re excited for our city’s youth to discover the power of their voices through writing, singing, and producing music,” said BGCGM President and CEO Kathy Thornton-Bias. “This studio will help take our members’ musical abilities to the next level and introduce them to exciting and creative career paths.”
“Whether young people are writing and performing songs, recording podcasts, or creating projects related to their course work during the day or after school, we are confident that the voices of Milwaukee’s youth will be uplifted by this incredible new space,” said Milwaukee Academy of Science CEO Anthony McHenry.
The grand opening of the new studio will be held at the Milwaukee Academy of Science on May 25 from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. It’s located at 2000 W. Kilbourn Ave., Milwaukee WI, 53233.
