Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee Expands Blue Door Academy
Program becomes nation’s largest with new expansion
MILWAUKEE – August 21, 2026 – Earlier this summer, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee (BGCGM) partnered with Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) to launch Blue Door Academy, a new afterschool enrichment program designed to deliver consistent, high-quality programming for elementary school students. The first site to pilot the program was Underwood Elementary School in Wauwatosa, Wis.
The pilot program was such a success that BGCGM is excited to announce that it is expanding Blue Door Academy to a total of 10 Wauwatosa Schools for the 2026-27 school year. BGCGM is the first Boys & Girls Club organization in the country to launch Blue Door Academy and, with the expansion, will have the program’s largest footprint nationwide.
“Blue Door Academy’s afterschool program builds on more than 165 years of youth development expertise,” said Jim Clark, CEO, Boys & Girls Clubs of America. “At Blue Door Academy, your child will connect with caring adults, build positive relationships and engage in research-backed youth development practices. They’ll enjoy homework support, mentorship, enrichment activities, healthy snacks, and downtime — all within the trusted Boys & Girls Clubs of America framework designed to help every young person reach their full potential.”
Blue Door Academy delivers high-quality enrichment programming directly in schools in an environment that is familiar and welcoming for kids. The afterschool program is designed for JK-5th grade students at Wauwatosa elementary schools.
