MADISON – Governor Scott Walker today announced The Toro Company, a leading worldwide provider of outdoor maintenance equipment and irrigation and professional lighting solutions, is expanding its facility in Tomah. The project will add 180,000 square feet to its facility and is expected to create 35 new jobs.

“Companies have a choice when they are looking to expand, and we’re pleased The Toro Company has chosen to make this investment right here in Wisconsin,” said Governor Scott Walker “The new jobs and capital investment this project will bring to Tomah underscores Toro’s continued commitment to the state and our workforce.”

Founded in 1914, The Toro Company manufactures turf maintenance, snow and ice management, landscape, rental and specialty construction equipment, and irrigation and outdoor lighting solutions. Across its family of brands, the company’s products help customers care for golf courses, sports fields, public green spaces, commercial and residential properties, and agricultural operations.

A global company, Toro has a network of professional distributors, dealers and retailers in more than 125 countries. Their products are used at such notable sites and events as Carnoustie Golf Links and St. Andrews Links in Scotland, Torrey Pines Golf Course in California, Pinehurst Resort in North Carolina, Château de Versailles in France, Real Madrid Club de Fútbol in Spain, Walt Disney World® Resort in Florida and the Wimbledon Championships.

WEDC is supporting the project by authorizing up to $350,000 in state income tax credits over the next four years. The actual amount of tax credits Toro will receive is contingent upon the number of jobs created and the amount of capital investment during that period.

The company’s expansion includes the construction of a 180,000 square-foot facility and the purchase of a new paint system that will allow Toro to increase production capacity of existing commercial equipment lines. The Tomah facility manufactures commercial equipment that serves golf courses, sports field and grounds and other landscape industries.
