The Marquette University women’s soccer team (6–7–4, 2–4–3 BIG EAST) dropped its final road match of the regular season Saturday night, falling 7–1 to No. 19 Xavier (13–2–2, 8–0–1 BIG EAST) at Corcoran Field.

Xavier took control early, opening the scoring in the 14th minute and adding two more goals before halftime to take a 3–0 lead into the break. The Musketeers continued their strong attack in the second half, scoring four additional times to extend their advantage.

Marquette broke through in the 59th minute when Molly Keiper converted a free kick from outside the box to put the Golden Eagles on the board. The goal marked Keiper’s third of the season.

Goalkeepers Elise Krone and Hailey Wade split time in net for Marquette. Krone made two saves in just over 61 minutes of action, while Wade recorded one save in relief.

The Golden Eagles were outshot 18–3 on the night, while Xavier held a 6–0 advantage in corner kicks. Marquette was issued one yellow card in the contest.
