Girl Scouts’ Celebrate the Promise to Honor Women Leaders
Third annual signature event will celebrate the power of the Girl Scout Difference
Milwaukee, March 19, 2019 – Girl Scouts of Wisconsin Southeast (GSWISE) is pleased to announce that their third annual Celebrate the Promise signature event will be held on Thursday, May 30 from 5:30 – 9:00 p.m. at The Pfister Hotel (424 E. Wisconsin Avenue, Milwaukee). Celebrate the Promise is presented by Associated Bank, and 2019 co-chairs are John Utz, Executive Vice President, Head of Corporate Banking and Milwaukee Market President, Associated Bank, and Shannon Utz, community volunteer; Andrew Narrai, Chief Marketing Officer, Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren s.c., and Nancy Hernandez, President, Hispanic Collaborative; Katina Shaw, Vice President of Community Relations and Family Liaison, Milwaukee Brewers Baseball Club, and Jermaine Shaw, Production Supervisor, Novozymes. Jessica Tighe, Girl Scout alum and CBS 58 Anchor, will emcee the celebration.
Celebrate the Promise will honor four inspiring women leaders who are engaged in strengthening and building our communities through their philanthropic and corporate leadership, and who serve as role models for girls. Girl Scout Leadership G.I.R.L. (Go-getter, Innovator, Risk-taker, Leader) ™ award recipients being honored are ‘Go-Getter’ Lora Strigens, Vice President for Planning and Facilities Management, Marquette University; ‘Innovator’ Linda Marcus, Owner and Designer, Linda Marcus Design; ‘Risk-Taker’ Becky Valcq, Commissioner, Public Service Commission of Wisconsin; and ‘Leader’ Cecelia Gore, Executive Director, Brewers Community Foundation, Inc.

We are committed to helping all girls reach their full potential with our proven leadership development experience for girls – one that is designed with, by, and for girls,” stated Christy Brown, Chief Executive Officer, GSWISE.
Event proceeds will support opportunities for all girls to participate in the Girl Scout Leadership Experience to discover their values, skills, and the world around them; connect with others in a multicultural environment; and take action to make a difference in their world.
