Generous 5th District donations will provide food for those in need this Thanksgiving

Alderman Lamont Westmoreland said sponsorships from himself and six 5th District businesses will help provide COMPLEMENTARY gift certificates for the purchase of Thanksgiving food.

The Alderman noted that the $50 gift certificates (one per vehicle/address) can be picked up on Monday, November 17th at 6 p.m. and ONLY USED at the Sentry Foods, located at 9210 W. Lisbon Ave. Registration is required to receive a gift certificate, and gift certificates will be disbursed to the first 150 registrants. Registration and additional information can be accessed at milwaukee.gov/CommonCouncil/CouncilMembers/District5.

“With significant turmoil happening now that threatens the food security of thousands of Milwaukee residents and families, I am extremely thankful to Sentry Foods, 76 Steak and Potato, BP gas station, Lisbon Gas & Food, Vin Baker Recovery and Liquor Outlet, in joining me in this giveaway and for their kind and above-and-beyond generosity during the run up to Thanksgiving,” said Alderman Westmoreland, who will be on hand on November 17 at Sentry Foods to hand out gift certificates. “We are extremely fortunate to have them as neighbors and as stalwart corporate citizens who give back to the community in difficult times.”

NOTE: Lisbon Avenue is currently under construction and access can be a bit challenging, but the Sentry store is open for business. Cars are to line up on 92nd St. from Capitol Dr.
