Full launch of new DirectConnectMKE jobs platform taking place TODAY

By - Nov 12th, 2020 03:57 pm

A virtual full launch webinar provided the venue for the launch earlier today of the revised DirectConnectMKE (DCMKE), as the city’s employment resource platform moves to its next phase in connecting residents with job and career opportunities.

Alderwoman Milele A. Coggs, who helped craft legislation to create the workforce development platform in 2017, offered welcoming remarks during the opening session of the full launch webinar this morning.

“Back in 2018 we started our DCMKE journey to democratize access to opportunities that can launch careers and provide stability and success,” Alderwoman Coggs said, noting that it started as a pilot effort in partnership with the City of Milwaukee and Yolobe, “an innovative software company with a shared vision to ours.”

“DCMKE has been joined by Milwaukee organizations that support our mission, and the DCMKE team has been a staple during job and resource fair events, job fairs in the street in city neighborhoods, and also during drive-thru job fairs during the COVID-19 pandemic,” she said. “It is exciting to be now moving to the next phase of DCMKE, complete with a brand new look and feel that our team has been working on now for the past year.”

DCMKE users can easily access valuable information on job training, job supports, and job placement opportunities.
