Friends of Jackson and Manitoba Parks to Launch Community Group Jan. 10 amidst Tom Pipia’s nature photographs
Milwaukee — Friends of Jackson and Manitoba Parks (FoJMParks) will officially launch its new community organization on Saturday, Jan. 10, from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the Zablocki Branch of the Milwaukee Public Library, 3501 W. Oklahoma Ave. The photographs of wildlife and nature photographer Tom Pipia will be available to view during the open house event.
The launch comes at a critical time. Milwaukee County Parks faces a significant funding deficit, with an estimated $500 million in deferred maintenance.
FoJMParks invites community members to share ideas and get involved in efforts that increase park usage, enjoyment, and stewardship. Elected officials and staff from Milwaukee County Parks will attend the launch to listen, engage, and connect with residents. The public is encouraged to learn more about how to support and shape the future of Jackson and Manitoba Parks by attending.
