Former Milwaukee Brewers All-Star Catcher to Invest in 3rd Street Market Hall

Professional athletes continue to be added to the Downtown food hall’s list of investors

Milwaukee, WI – 3rd Street Market Hall announced today that former Milwaukee Brewers catcher Jonathan Lucroy is investing in the recently opened market hall after attending the United For Waukesha charity event hosted there in December.

The former Central Division Champion has missed the culture, the food, and most importantly, the people of Milwaukee ever since he made his departure. Now, six years after leaving the city, Lucroy wants to invest in the future of Milwaukee and visit more often.

“I loved going back to Milwaukee in December and visiting 3rd Street Market Hall,” said Lucroy. “The United For Waukesha charity event they hosted reminded me of why I love this community. I want to help Milwaukee succeed and 3rd Street Market Hall seems like the perfect opportunity to do so.”

Lucroy played nearly seven seasons with the city’s Major League Baseball team. He achieved the Central Division Championship title with the team in 2011 and graced the MLB All-Star game in both 2014 and 2016. Ever since leaving the Milwaukee Brewers in 2016, Lucroy missed the city he called home for the better part of a decade.

Lucroy received widespread support from Brewers fans when he visited last month. “I think he’s finally realizing how much this city still loves him,” said the market hall’s General Manager, Eric Kaye. “Milwaukee misses him as much as he misses Milwaukee. We’re glad he chose 3rd Street Market Hall and we’re excited to have him as one of our investors.”

3rd Street Market Hall opened in January 2022 with six of its vendors. In Spring of 2022, these vendors will be joined by over 16 other small businesses like Dawg City, Supernova Coffee & Donuts, Strangetown Bottle Shop, Kawa Ramen & Sushi, Greenhouse, Make Waves, and many more. These vendors will help make 3rd Street Market Hall the most unique dining location in downtown Milwaukee. The market hall is also home to exceptional activities like the Photoverse Selfie Museum, Topgolf Swing Suites, a video gaming lounge, two shuffleboard courts, and more. It also boasts a 50-seat, full-service bar that’s quickly becoming a downtown favorite for employees, residents, and visitors alike. Interviews with 3rd Street Market Hall management are available upon request and more details on other food hall vendors will be announced as they become available.
