Former Lancaster Mayor David Varnam Announces Campaign for Lieutenant Governor of Wisconsin
Lancaster, WI (September 25, 2025) – Former Lancaster Mayor David Varnam officially announced his candidacy this morning for the 2026 Republican nomination for lieutenant governor of Wisconsin.
Varnam added, “As lieutenant governor, I will ensure that our state and local law enforcement work with federal immigration agencies to deport criminal illegal aliens.”
David Varnam is the former mayor of Lancaster, former congressional aide, and former federal policy analyst at Focus on the Family for Dr. James Dobson. Varnam was trusted to serve three terms as mayor where he kept property taxes and utility fees low, attracted new businesses and retained existing ones. He was one of eight candidates that qualified for the lieutenant governor primary ballot in 2022, receiving the most votes in Grant and Lafayette County.
Varnam is a pro-life, pro-Second Amendment conservative Republican. He will travel throughout Wisconsin to hear directly from Wisconsin residents and work tirelessly to set Wisconsin on the right path.
