Forbes Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

NEW YORK – Marquette University women’s basketball sophomore forward Skylar Forbes earned a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, the conference office announced Monday.

Forbes had two 20-point games last week including a game-high 21 points vs. No. 7 UConn on New Year’s Day.

The Markham, Ontario native had a game-high 21 points in the comeback win at Butler on Saturday, Jan. 4, including two free throws with one second left to seal the win. All 21 points came in the last three quarters.

Forbes shot 48 percent from the floor (13-of-27) and 85 percent from the line (12-of-14) for the week.

Marquette has had a player on the conference weekly honor roll for seven-straight weeks.

The Golden Eagles return to action at Creighton on Wednesday, Jan. 8 at 6 p.m. CT.
