Fitzgerald Statement on President Biden’s State of the Union Address

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Scott Fitzgerald (WI-05) issued the following statement after President Joe Biden delivered his State of the Union address.

“President Joe Biden showed the American people tonight that he is not up to the task to lead us through the challenges that confront the nation abroad and at home,” said Rep. Fitzgerald. “In fact, it is President Biden’s policies that have enabled many of the crises we’re dealing with today. The president touched on Israel this evening, but he forgets, his administration back-tracked Trump-era maximum pressure polices that deterred Iran and its proxies—like Hamas. The president also said the onus is on Congress to act on the southern border but again he forgets, House Republicans already passed H.R. 2—the strongest border security bill we’ve seen in recent history. There was nothing inspiring about this evening. On the contrary, President Biden’s speech was an urgent reminder that we need decisive, America-first leadership in the White House.”

That’s it? You only had two complaints regarding the state of the union? I really don’t understand your garbled complaint regarding the war between Hamas and Israel. Maybe you need a cognitive assessment. As for our southern border, the bill the House just barely approved, has no chance in the Senate. It was only a scam vote meant to garner publicity. The bill that really could have addressed the border issues, House RRRs (radical reactionary republicans) like yourself, voted down because it would “give a win to Biden and the Democrats.” How cynical are you?
You and your RRR colleagues are not interested in governing. You are only interested in power. You forget however, that power misused destroys. It is apparent that your power hunger is corroding the GOP.
