First Take or No Take- It’ll Be Bucks All The Way!

Statement of Alderman Khalif J. Rainey
June 23, 2021

I have a message for the haters of the Milwaukee Bucks: Keep bringing the disrespect so the Bucks can keep turning it into jet fuel that they’ll use to propel the team to its first NBA Championship in 50 years!

To the ESPN talking heads who referred to Milwaukee as a ‘terrible city’: We don’t really care about what your opinion is of our city or of any of the other possible NBA Finals cities. Please just talk about the basketball, because that’s what we are hyped about!

And if you’ve seen the outdoor Deer District buzzing with 15,000 fans who are cheering, dancing and just vibing outside the Fiserv Forum before, during and after the Bucks’ playoff games, then you know we’re hyped!

We love our team and this year they have the pieces in place to get the job done. It’s about character, and about being flat-out DOGS when they need to be (just ask Brooklyn!).

As the Eastern Conference Finals get underway tonight in our fine city, I believe the talkers at ESPN, the Atlanta Hawks, and for that matter the entire world are about to find out that we are READY – Milwaukee is READY – to begin the final push in bringing home a championship.

Bucks in six!
