First Gardening-themed Radio Show to hit Milwaukee’s Airwaves in Years

Milwaukee, WI. Joey and Holly are the founders of TheWisconsinVegetableGardener.com.

They are a married couple living in Mequon. Joey & Holly make videos on youtube about how to grow your own food organically, reusing found items (or items you may just throw away), what to do with the food you grow, home canning and simple home living. Joey grew up on a large agricultural grain and livestock farm, and Holly is a lifelong backyard gardener. They have gardens in Mequon, but their largest garden is on Holly’s Mom’s property in Greenfield. They also tend family members’ gardens.

They are thrilled to host The Wisconsin Vegetable Gardener Radio show.

Their goal through their videos, social media and now radio show is to show the average person how easy it is to grow food, store food, and reuse everyday items.

“The Wisconsin Vegetable Gardener” airs on WNOV-860 AM and 106.5 FM every Saturday Morning at 9-10 a.m. it is the first gardening-themed radio show to hit Milwaukee’s airwaves in 12 years.

The Bairds’ spent more than 700 hours over the course of nine months securing sponsors for their radio program and chose WNOV because the station will allow them the most creative freedom.
