Fatal Crash on the 4600 block of W. Hopkins St. Friday, May 2, 2025

Milwaukee Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred on Friday, May 2, 2025, at approximately 10:05 a.m., on the 4600 block of W. Hopkins Street. An unknown suspect was firing shots on the 4500 block of N. 37th Street which caused unit #1 to flee the area. Unit #1 disregarded a stop sign and collided with unit #2. Several occupants from unit #1 entered another vehicle and fled the scene. A passenger of unit #2, a 61-year-old, was transported to a hospital and later succumbed. The driver of unit #2 remained on scene. No other injuries were reported and no one reported being struck by the gunfire of the shots fired incident. An occupant of unit #1, a 23-year-old woman, was arrested. Criminal charges will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office. Milwaukee Police continue to seek additional occupants that fled from unit #1.
