Families Invited to 3rd Annual Back-to-School Celebration at Indigenous People’s Park

Alderman Mark Chambers, Jr. is teaming up once again with the Milwaukee Police Department’s 7th District to host the 3rd Annual Back to School Festival, which will be at Indigenous People’s Park, 7301 W. Courtland Ave. on Sunday, August 24th from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

This year’s event will feature a variety of free activities for children and families, including free food, a live DJ, health and wellness vendors, a bike raffle giveaway, haircuts and hair braiding, and a dedicated Kids Fun Zone. Students can also receive free book bags and school supplies on a first-come, first-serve basis to help them prepare for the new school year.

“The festival is more than just getting ready for school, it’s about building community, celebrating our youth, and making sure families have what they need to start the school year strong,” Alderman Chambers said. “We’re proud to partner with the Milwaukee Police Department to create a safe, fun space for everyone.”
