MADISON, Wis. — Failed right-wing candidate for Attorney General in 2022, Eric Toney, today announced at a media event, at which he refused to take questions, he intends to run for the office again in 2026.

The following are the statements of A Better Wisconsin Together:

“Eric Toney is the same guy, offering the same right-wing ideas who was rejected by the voters of Wisconsin four years ago.

“Toney pushed using an 1849 law to try to impose an almost total abortion ban in Wisconsin and to threaten doctors and nurses with criminal penalties for providing care.

“He’s so extreme about putting politicians like himself in charge of decisions people should make with their families and medical professionals that he’s advocated for being able to exceed his authority as a local district attorney and cross county lines to impose his beliefs on people who didn’t elect him.

“Wisconsinites have been clear, they expect their elected officials to respect and protect their freedoms and rights.”
