Ex Fabula Presents Community Storytelling Events for Spring 2026

MILWAUKEE — Local storytelling organization Ex Fabula is pleased to announce its spring lineup of events as part of its 17th season of StorySlams.

Ex Fabula StorySlams are live events where community members connect and share true, personal stories related to the night’s theme, told without props or notes. Community members are invited to come listen, or to participate by sharing their stories based on the theme of the evening.

The dates, themes, and locations are as follows:

Thursday, March 12
StorySlam: Growing Pains – Stories of Change, New Experiences, and Doing Hard Things
Dandy, 5020 W Vliet St, Milwaukee, WI 53208
Doors open at 6:30PM, stories begin at 7PM

Thursday, April 9
AfterDark: For the Culture – A Night Celebrating Black and Brown Voices
Radio Milwaukee, 220 E Pittsburgh Ave, Milwaukee, WI 53204
Doors open at 6:00PM, stories begin at 7PM

Sunday, April 26
Deaf StorySlam: Jaw Dropping – Stories in American Sign Language with Spoken English Interpretation
Anodyne Coffee Roasting Co. (Walker’s Point), 224 W Bruce St, Milwaukee, WI 53204
Doors open at 4:30PM, stories begin at 5PM

Friday, May 15
ALL STARS: Ancestors – A Celebration of Season 17’s Audience Favorites
Falcon Bowl, 801 E Clarke St, Milwaukee, WI 53212
Doors open at 6:30PM, stories begin at 7PM

In addition, Ex Fabula will be hosting a variety of workshops for community members interested in improving their storytelling skills. Complete details and tickets for all events are now available at www.exfabula.org/tickets.

EQUITY AND ACCESS

As part of Ex Fabula’s commitment to equity and access, a limited number of free “pay it forward” tickets will be available online for individuals who could otherwise not afford to attend. Community members are invited to support this practice by purchasing “pay-it-forward” tickets or becoming Ex Fabula members.
