Employ Milwaukee Announces Resignation of President & CEO
Chytania Brown, President & Chief Executive Officer of Employ Milwaukee, has chosen to conclude her work with the organization effective June 6, 2024. Brown was appointed President & CEO of Milwaukee County’s workforce development board in February 2020. Major accomplishments during her tenure include leading the organization through the COVID-19 pandemic by pivoting services for over 10,000 Milwaukee County residents annually including drive through job fairs and digital literacy services; presenting at the White House about Employ Milwaukee’s innovative workforce strategies developed with American Rescue Plan Act funding; and launching Camp RISE, a summer career exploration program for Milwaukee’s youth ages 10 to 13.
Prior to rejoining Employ Milwaukee as its leader in 2020, Brown was the Administrator of the Division of Employment and Training at the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development under two gubernatorial administrations. On the state level, she spearheaded American Job Center initiatives that expanded service delivery inside Wisconsin correctional institutions and launched a Mobile Career Lab for out-of-state veteran recruitment and enhanced community connectivity.

Employ Milwaukee Board of Directors have appointed Julie Cayo, Employ Milwaukee’s Chief Planning Officer, as Interim Chief Executive Officer. The search for a new President & CEO appointment will begin in the coming months.
