Ebenezer Child Care Centers, Inc. Announces Merger with Mary Linsmeier Schools

By - Feb 3rd, 2025 11:36 am

Ebenezer Child Care Centers, Inc. today announced the completion of its merger with Mary Linsmeier Schools. This allows Ebenezer’s team to assume responsibility for operating Mary Linsmeier’s four locations in Brookfield, Fond du Lac, South Milwaukee, and Waukesha. All these schools will remain open, continuing their current programming with additional resources to support them.

Effective February 1, the merger adds 50 staff members and 220 children to Ebenezer Child Care, a local not- for-profit agency that has provided early care and education for children from four weeks through 12 years old for over 50 years. These four schools will operate in alignment with Ebenezer’s current locations in downtown Milwaukee, West Allis/Wauwatosa, and Oak Creek.

“We are incredibly excited for the opportunity to merge our two organizations and continue to provide quality early care and education, filling a critical need for area families,” said Beverly Anderson, Executive Director of Ebenezer. Our mission is to provide ‘Child Care from the Heart,’ and our organizational alignment in philosophy, values and practices will allow us to provide this to kids and families.”

Founded in 1964 by Mary and Frank Linsmeier, Mary Linsmeier Schools offer high-quality education programs individualized to fit each child’s needs through local daycare centers. These centers provide personal and mindful year-round child care and early education for children aged six weeks through 12 years old. Dave Linsmeier, Mary and Frank’s son, has served as Executive Director of the schools since 1988. When he decided last year to retire in 2025, he looked for a way to ensure the schools would continue to thrive.

“This merger is a positive step forward, allowing us to build on my mother’s legacy and continue to provide the quality care and education that local families deserve,” said Dave Linsmeier. Linsmeier will remain in his role for six months to provide support and ensure a smooth transition.

Ebenezer is a not-for-profit, locally based agency committed to providing early childhood programs from the heart.
