Under GOP Control, Abortion Rights Would Be First on the Chopping Block
Jan 21st, 2026 by Democratic Party of WisconsinSCOWIS Candidate Maria Lazar, GOP gubernatorial front runner Tom Tiffany, and numerous legislative candidates have all supported a six-week abortion ban or the state’s 1849 abortion ban.

As a lifelong Democrat, I was deeply disappointed in Dr. Underly’s re-election. I don’t think failing our students, whether it is dumbing down test scores, providing less than stellar approaches to teaching reading, exposing students to lead poisoning for years, nor sweeping millions of financial improprieties of MPS under the rug deserve re-election. Democrats, you made a mistake this time and our children will suffer for it.
