County Executive David Crowley Statement on Master Lock Parent Company Closing Oak Creek Office

By - Jan 23rd, 2025 01:02 pm

MILWAUKEE – County Executive David Crowley issued the following statement regarding the news that Fortune Brands Innovations, the parent company of Master Lock, is closing its Oak Creek office and moving over 100 jobs out of Milwaukee County.

“I am once again deeply disappointed by the owner of Master Lock for their decision to close its Oak Creek office and move over 100 good-paying, family-sustaining jobs out of Milwaukee County. After shutting down the Milwaukee Master Lock manufacturing plant last year, this latest move by Fortune Brands Innovations essentially signals the end of the iconic Master Lock brand’s century-long history in our community. I know many of the workers who created the profit and success that is fueling the company’s move out of Milwaukee. These hard working people deserve to be recognized and respected, especially at a time when other businesses have taken steps to accelerate their presence in Milwaukee. Looking ahead, I will continue working to grow our economy, support our workers, and recruit and retain businesses in Milwaukee County so we can move forward together.”
