County Executive David Crowley Statement on Contractor Incident at Milwaukee County Courthouse
MILWAUKEE – County Executive David Crowley issued the following statement regarding the incident that occurred today involving contractors working along the roof of the Milwaukee County Courthouse.
“My office is aware of the incident that occurred today involving contractors who were working on a façade restoration project along the roof of the Milwaukee County Courthouse. I’m grateful for the swift action from our first responders in rescuing the individuals, and I’m pleased that no injuries occurred during this situation. The cause of the incident will be fully investigated before any work resumes. It would have been helpful for Urban MKE staff to provide information as to what the actual incident was, as that was not mentioned in the County Exec’s statement.
@Mpbehar – Graham Kilmer, our county government reporter, is out on a planned absence for the next two weeks, but as a way of providing a quick summary: some hanging scaffolding near the top of the building that was being used for facade repair slipped and was dangling from the building at a 45-degree angle. Workers on it were trapped and rescued.
